The Joint Postal Trade Union Alliance (JPTUA) has decided to re-launch the trade union action demanding the removal of the Post Master General. The spokesperson for JPTUA Chinthaka Bandara said trade unions decided to re-launch the trade union action as the PMG who has been accused of various irregularities has not resigned from his post.
He said despite charges of irregularities committed by him have been confirmed by the committee of three appointed to investigate the irregularities and a letter of charges has been sent, the PMG has not left his post. The trade unions decided to re-launch the agitations against the PMG as this state is a hindrance to both employees as well as the general public.
Accordingly, a ‘Sathyagraha’ campaign would be launched today (23rd) at noon opposite the postal head office and at the end of the ‘Sathyagraha’ the employees expect to walk to the Presidential Secretariat and hand over a petition to the President said Mr. Bandara.
