UNITED NATIONS, Oct 26 2013 (IPS) - Sri Lankan Tamil hopes for a separate state – Tamil Eelam – in the north and east of the island were dashed when the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) were summarily defeated in May 2009 by government forces.

Other recommendations by the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) are:
1) Meet those surrendered to Security Forces, like a group led by Rev. Father Francis Joseph and Ehilian.
2) Secure the release of Tamil Nadu (India) Fishermen imprisoned in Sri Lanka.
3) Meet some of the 90,000 Eelam Tamil War Widows and their daughters, who face abuses by Sri Lankan Security Forces.
4) Station UN Human Rights Monitors in Tamil areas & Send International trial observers to observe the trials of Tamil political prisoners.

"Boycotting Sri Lankan goods, Sri Lankan Airlines & Sri Lankan cricket" - TGTE

Inspired by: Mahathma Gandhi led Indian Freedom struggle’s Boycott of British Goods; South African anti- Apartheid boycott campaign & Martin Luther King’s Bus boycott against discrimination of blacks in the US.
 Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) is initiating a worldwide campaign of boycott, divestment and sanction (BDS) against Sri Lanka.
This boycott campaign will be against Sri Lankan goods, Sri Lankan Airlines, and Sri Lankan cricket, among others.

Tamil Eelam Freedom Charter Declared by Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam

Tamil groups from around the world, coordinated by the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE), initiated the process of drafting the Freedom Charter, through extensive consultation from Tamils worldwide.
Aspiring to take the Vaddukoddai Resolution forward as the TGTE moves towards realizing its goal, and taking inspiration from Britain’s Ma’gna Car’ta, the Freedom Charter of the African National Congress (ANC) as well as the Palestinian National Charter, the Tamil Eelam Freedom Charter “will enshrine the ‘Freedom Demands’ of the people.” the Prime Minister Visuvanathan Rudrakumaran said.

Tamil Eelam Freedom Charter to be Declared on May 18th - the 4th Anniversary of Mass Killing of Tamils in Sri Lanka.

• Several renowned international personalities and dignitaries are attending this event to give their support.

• As Tamils envision the future and look forward to the fruition of Tamil Eelam, the Freedom Charter containing the Freedom Demands of Tamils worldwide, would be a cornerstone of Tamil's Freedom.

Geneva Resolution: Not A Victory For Tamils, But A Defeat For Sri Lanka – TGTE

The resolution proposed by America at the Human Rights Council related to Sri Lanka was passed by a majority of 13 votes. Out of the Human Rights Council comprising of 47 member states, 26 voted for the resolution, 13 against and 8 abstained taking a neutral position.
