(Srilankamirror) - Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka has warned all anti-Sinhalese forces against taking tolerance, a characteristic of the Sinhalese, as a sign of cowardice. He was speaking at a function organized by the JHU to mark the eighth death anniversary of Ven. Gangodawila Soma Thera, lankacnews reported.
The minister stressed that Sinhalese should be resettled in the northern province despite any opposition, adding that 21,000 Sinhalese lived in Jaffna in 1981 and Buddhism existed in the north.
He reminded TULF leader V. Anandasangaree that it was the boys in the security forces who had saved him from the LTTE.
Also, the right for the Sambandans to live in Colombo should be enjoyed by the Sinhalese by living in the north and the east, after the elimination of terrorism that had denied our right to live in our own country, said Mr. Ranawaka.
Of the 11,0000 terrorist suspects who had killed our people, 10,000 are free today, but not just one Sinhalese spoke against their being released, he noted.
The Sinhalese never went slandering overseas, but what the chauvinistic Sampanthans are saying today? he asked.
