Jaffna (Srilankamirror) - The Army on November 19 held Jaffna’s largest education seminar of the year at three centres to prepare the GCE O/L school candidates for their examination next month. It was held under the guidance of Security Forces Headquarters of Jaffna in liaison with provincial education officials.
Civil Affairs Office of the 511 Brigade in coordination with the Jaffna Education Department organized full day sessions for Jaffna students on mathematics and science, the subjects which many candidates fail to score high marks.
Nearly 1,600 students from 27 schools in the 511 Brigade area attended the seminars conducted by experienced teachers at Puttur Sri Somaskantha Vidyalaya, Kopay Christian Vidyalaya and Urumpirai Hindu Vidyalaya.
The inauguration of this programme was attended by Jaffna Commander Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe and other officials.
