Sri Lanka seeks pragmatic approach in addressing issues of transitional justice

Sri Lanka on Thursday called for a pragmatic, context specific approach in addressing issues of transitional justice.
Making a statement during the interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on Truth, Justice, Reparation and Non-recurrence Pablo de Greiff, the Sri Lankan delegation at the UN Human Rights Council said that Sri Lanka has consistently upheld the position that the approach of each state to reconciliation be context specific taking into account the particularities of each state and the aspirations of its people.
