UN to complete review on Sri Lanka next month

The current internal review carried out by the UN on its actions in Sri Lanka during the period of the war is to be completed by next month.

UN Spokesperson Martin Nesirky has said the review commenced in April 2012 and will be completed around July 2012.
 The committee involved in the review is being headed by Charles Petrie after former committee head Thoraya Obaid had to step down for personal reasons.

The internal review is part of a recommendation by the panel of experts appointed by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to look at some of the incidents during the final stages of the war in Sri Lanka.
