Western diplomatic missions in conspiracy

Several western diplomatic missions in Colombo are plotting to create anarchy in the country, alleges minister Wimal Weerawansa. These diplomatic missions are working to show to the UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva that there is lawlessness in Sri Lanka, he told the opening of a housing scheme for soldiers at Hettimulla in Kegalle today (Feb. 20).

Their intention is to adopt a resolution against Sri Lanka at the UNHRC.

Also, they are trying to take president Mahinda Rajapaksa before the ICC in The Hague even after two or three years, said Mr. Weerawansa.

He alleged certain parties, NGOs and trade unions have been bought over by these plotters.

Speaking further, Mr. Weerawansa said it was clear from a slogan in a placard carried by Negombo fisherman that they were working to the wants of a certain NGO.
