Police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that above ruling was made after considering a request by the Police.
Accordingly, protests and processions will be banned within the Colombo city today (14) as well as tomorrow, which will see the opening of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
However, speaking at a media briefing on October 01, Director General of the Media Centre for National Security - Lakshman Hulugalla said that the government rejected media reports claiming that public protests and processions will be banned during the time of the CHOGM in Colombo.
