Ranjan Kasturi
The Madiwela residence of JVP MP Ajith Kumara, who had joined the JVP dissident group, had been searched by the CID yesterday.  The CID had taken into custody two desktop computers, one laptop and some documents. A source close to Mr. Kumara said that the building was used by the MP as a temporary residence as well as an office when he was in Colombo. He said the CID officers had searched the office for about two hours. They had arrived with a search warrant around noon. Despite the protests of the MP’s lawyer, the CID had taken a statement from a person in the office and removed the computers and documents.
