EPRLF Thurairatnam condemns Tamil ministers for failing to confront Sinhalacisation in East

R.Thurairatnam
The Sri Lankan government led by Mahinda Rajapaksa is actively engaged in destroying historic places of worship and illegally acquiring lands belonging to Eezham Tamils and it is a pity to note some Tamil collaborators with ministerial positions in Rajapaksa government have no backbone in opposing the landgrab and the Sinhalicisation,
said R.Thurairatnam, Eastern Provincial Councillor and the organizer of EPRLF (Varathar Wing) in Batticaloa district in a statement to media this week.

These ministers have been saying that destroyed Tamil areas could be developed only by extending support to Mahinda Rajapakse government.

However they are silent when the Rajapakse government and its henchmen have been destroying places of worship and illegally acquiring traditional Tamil lands and implementing the Sinhalicization of Tamil districts policy in the east, Mr. Thurairatnam said.

Thurairatnam, in an open message to the collaborators, the chief minister of Eastern provincial Council (EPC), Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pilliayan and SL deputy minister of resettlement Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan alias Karuna to come forward to at least save the rights of Tamil people from being driven out of their traditional lands.

EPRLF (Varathar) faction has been a paramilitary group with camps in Sri Lanka Army High Security Zone earlier. The group's top hierarchy is aligned with Indian intelligence establishment.
