Army disrupts 'Brotherhood' cricket match

The Socialist Youth Union says that the Army has disrupted a cricket match organized by them in Dhramapuram, Kilinochchi yesterday (August 02). Issuing a press release, the SYU says that the match was organized to coincide with the Brotherhood day held on July 23.

Several army officers had arrived while the match was underway and summoned to the Army camp to record a statement, it adds.

However, the game was continued despite the disruption, the SYU says.

At this event, the SYU had distributed books containing model question papers and answers aimed at the O/Ls and A/Ls in Sinhala and Tamil medium, they add.

These books were distributed to the Thirumurugandhi Hindu College, Akkarayan Maha Vidyalaya, Kanagapuram Maha Vidyalaya, Rudrapuram Maha Vidyalaya and Dharmapuram Maha Vidyalaya.

SYU National Committee members Dimuthu Bandara Abeykoon and Marungan Mohan as well as well as JVP candidate for Kilinochchi, Sinnathurai Rajendran also attended the event
